Is Anyone Else Here Tired Of The Zach Johnson Bandwagon?
Zach Johnson definitely played a helluva round on Sunday and rightfully so deserves the green jacket. But does anyone out there really think that Zach will be able to pull off a win like this again in the near future? I mean seriously, it wasn’t long ago when people were jumping on the Brandt Snedeker bandwagon because he gave Tiger a run at the Buick Invitational (heck, did he even make the Masters cut?) And what about Brett Wetterich who faded quickly after giving Tiger a run at Doral a few weeks earlier.
And why does the media keep calling Zach a ‘kid’ when he’s actually a few months older than Tiger? Like I said, he certainly deserves a pat on the back after his Masters win, but to anoint him Tigers new competition is way too premature. That would be like questioning the Jordan-era Bulls after a blowout loss to the Atlanta Hawks. So what? 31 years old with one Major and 2 PGA Tour wins — definitely sounds like he’ll be challenging Tiger for years … NOT!!!!!

Nah, he just had a few good rounds, but won’t be able to keep it up. If Tiger was his usual self, he would have easily won.
Give him a break…hes a solid player and he was on the US Ryder Cup team which lost =] but….hes not gonna be the next Ben Curtis…i think he’ll have a solid career..
Let him have his time in the light
The Jim Nance’s and others in the media are always looking for a wonder boy to raise up for us all to embrace and love…
Zach seemed to have a good plan and executed it well. He laid up on most of the par-5′s and stayed in the fray. Hey, he and Tiger both had similar putts on 16 – Zach sunk his and Tiger’s slid away. That’s probably the match right there. So, Zach wins the Masters on a particularly tough-playing Augusta National deserves some credit for a great performance in a major. We’ll see what he does from here I guess.
Golf is a streaky game. Players get in the groove and roll for awhile before developing a new problem. It seems to happen to everyone.
Anyway, Tiger should still be the No. 1 ranked player in the world because he’s earned it – world class golf played consistently for about a decade. Hope he took something away from the Masters that he can use to improve his game.
And you can count on Jim Nance and Co. finding a new wonder boy soon enough.
cant people stop suckin tiger for one second to give someone else some respect. they seemed to talk more about tiger losing than johnson winning. go iowa boy.
omg so many people are like zach johnson is my favorite player. I HATE IT!@!! I noticed that about the young star is what they call him. i think cuz he looks very kiddish.
Your right ! there is a big band wagon for Zach, but I am on it. I do not hail him as the one to challenge Tiger! I am just very pleased to see a new face win.
Also he did not beat Tiger in the masters he won the masters w/ Tiger in the field. I believe that Golf is unique in that you could win a Tourney by posting a number early, go to the practice range and stay loose, and the rest of the field can fall apart and “give” you the win. I truely do not believe that you beat any one person in Golf unless you are in the final pair mantaining and battling for the the lead or you have a playoff to decide a tie.
Tiger’s influence is certainly felt even when he is not in your pairing, but Zach stayed focus on the course and posted a number that forced the field to beat “him”
It is refreshing to see a Cinderella story!
You don’t win the Masters because your a flash in the pan. Let me put it this way he is doing interviews on Letterman and has $7million and a trophy to prove how good he is, how about you?
